See Sight Seeing is a decade-long series from Psychotherapist and Photographer Anastasia Deligianni. The series, shot on various beaches across Greece is a study of what happens when you take out colour and you put details of bodies and action in front of or against continuous beaches, the endless sea and the horizon line. This story aims to represent the cinematic feeling Anastasia has experienced all across Greece each summer since she was a child.
“In my readings and writings I have always been interested in the relationship between figure and environment. I studied psychology in Athens, I learned theatre and traditional music and then I went to Paris, dreaming of combining mind and body. History, semiotics, aesthetics and lots of darkroom sessions and other photographic workshops finally made me a Psychotherapist through Visual Arts. Since then, my travels, research, exhibitions and publications narrate and reflect people and their lives, because I have seen that this helps them as it helps us all in many ways. Thus, every cliché of mine usually implies a sequence of events, linear or not, where some momentary technical intervention of my eyes and camera happen deliberately upon what occurs spontaneously and unconsciously.”
