Akosua Viktoria Adu-Sanyah was born in Bonn, Germany and now lives and works in Switzerland. Being of German-Ghanaian descent, she has always been concerned with the question of belonging and identity. Originally influenced by painting, Akosua developed an independent practice between performance and photography, using film as her canvas. Her work focuses on self-portraiture and memory in their dissolution and constitution through time, body, reflection and projection.
A notion. An idea.
The most reduced form of the Self is only a trace of memory.
