Simon King is a London-based fine-arts photojournalist and street photographer. His work captures the everyday surreal through an emphasis on limited shape and colour, and interesting characters. He is inspired by the cinematic frame and the storytelling techniques of the great photographers such as Steve McCurry or Walter Rothwell. He takes a slow approach to scenes, preferring to wait for elements to align rather than stepping closer to capture more fast-fleeting moments. His work still manages to remain intimate and always conveys a tangible atmosphere.
