Montreal-based photographer Seckin Sinan Isik has always been on the move – initially, due to his mother’s work and then, later, studying abroad. It has only been in the last four years that he has become progressively more involved with photography.
“I began to experiment more – and then I rediscovered film. It wasn’t long before I started to develop my own black and white film and more recently, I have started developing my own colour negatives too. Photography became more than just documenting; it became about expressing myself, putting my own values under a spotlight, a tool to experience my own neighbourhood, a tool to experience other cities. It became a big part of my life.”
