Kathleen Meier is a photographic artist living in France. Her work is a study of human psychology – how do we react when faced with given situations? How does our education, our experiences and our culture shape our feelings and emotions?
The series Huis Clos puts the viewer in a somewhat uncomfortable position – these are clearly images of a home, but a home is normally warm and inviting – but these are empty rooms, devoid of life with an unsettling sensation of lives once lived. Are these really rooms at all?
